  • Did Henderson County's pitcher "break her hand" in one of the games? If so, how is she and how did it happen?

  • How does signing a waiver make it ok for a student who is 6 months pregnant to pitch in the state tournament (or any school sanctioned sport)? We all know the waivers mean nothing if she or the baby get hurt. It will put our state and state tournament in the news for the wrong reasons. These girls work too hard and sacrifice too much for that. Choices have consequences and students and their parents (even if he is the coach) should have to use common sense and not allow selfish pride to guide decisions. Would they allow an unmarried pregnant coach represent their school and continue employment?

  • When you are pregnant you are supposed to still be active not lay down and die! People make mistakes!

  • Sounds heated here today... Let's talk Miss Softball. Anyone watch the favorites this weekend. It seems Young from North Hardin looked great and played well. It seemed like York struggled some and what about Henderson's pitcher being injured? Isn't Miss softball on the year long performance, attitude, ...? What is it exactly that is considered when choosing the "one"? Are academics a consideration? Sportsmanship? Stats? Is it coach's politics? Any ideas?

  • I think Brittany York was terrific. She hit wonderfully in every game. She had a solid at bat in the bottom of the 7th against OC with runners on, BUT the OC outfield was amazing all day. If their outfied wasn't so wonderful, she would have definately made a rally possible then. Not only that, she was polite and encouraging to the players on our team. I don't know how it is decided either, but she would have my vote (if I had one). What a lovely young lady with true team spirit and sportsmanship. I really had hoped they would win it all. Their fans were some of the best behaved I saw all weekend. I heard other teams' parents making fun of players, booing umpires, and really being bad sports. Greenwood won and lost with grace. Way to go, GATORS! You are a credit to sportsmanship and teamwork.

  • The games today showed one thing for sure. That on any given day any team can beat the other team.Looking back over each teams schedule most have beaten one or another. The team that can endure the most usually wins at the state tournment. Congrats to the winner.

  • Congratulations to Ryle!! Great job, and I'm glad OC didn't win. We need all parts of KY to be competitive with the western part. It's time to catch up and see strong teams from east and west. More and more KY players are signing D1, we are on the way to being a presence in fastpitch. I can't wait until a KY university is among those playing in the college world series. Way to go, girls!!

  • Congrats to Ryle! This team was destined I believe. Many of you may not know but the school never has had a state champion, the only principal the school ever had was set to retire this year and had told the coach he'd love to have one, well the day after gaduation, he had a heart attack ad passed away,so this championship was for him.
